Day 17

Ahhh, waking up to another day of rain (saturday, July 5th). Donna thought she would enjoy it a bit more, but it is hard to plan an outfit when you are trying to stay dry but it is hot outside and a jacket makes you sweat! We tried to get tickets to the Lion King in the morning (can you believe it has been on Broadway for 10 years??!!). 

They were all sold out, so we decided to take a chance and go for cancellation tickets. We were 7th in the line...and after an hour and a half of waiting...we got tickets for the 8th row, close to center! Never would we have imagined getting such great seats. Yes! It was incredible and totally worth the pretty penny paid for broadway shows. So much fun. Donna felt a trip to NYC would not be complete without a broadway show, so now it was complete. The costumes were so unique. Corey's favorite was the leopard and how it moved with the person wearing the "costume". (seen below in the picture) It was also pretty amazing that there were people in the giraffe costumes in this picture. 

After the show, we hit the subway one more time (of course on our last ride we FINALLY had the subway down a bit and didn't even need to pull out the map!). Next stop... Boston! 

Our road trip was nice...wasn't too long of a drive. Most of the time in the car spent reading the 2nd book in Mark of the Lion series. (Sarah... you didn't tell me it was a series of 3 books! We were hooked after the 1st book and had to buy the 2nd one back in North Carolina) We are now almost finished with the 2nd book. In Connecticut we almost went full speed into this stretch of flooded road (below). Yikes! (we did still go through it, but a lot slower).

We were welcomed to Boston by Corey's hometown friend Brett Arnold (Erin, wish you were home to hang with us!). We were fed well and then as Donna blogged, Corey and Brett enjoyed sharing new and old worship songs (Donna enjoyed it as well!).

We are looking forward to all Boston has to hold...
