Faye: Month 6

So a few "days" later we are now updating month 6 (10.07 through 11.06) we are only 3 months behind, ha. We start this blog out with some dadda and Faye love. Pics were taken in the front yard. Faye got dressed up for the occasion—footsie pjs and a beanie (this beanie is one that Corey wore when he was a little tike). Faye expresses: "look at my Mega-Man feet!" In this shot Faye demonstrates how to get her arm out from under her while being wedged against the side of the couch! Where the wild things are... (we caught one...she almost got away but we grabbed her little legs and held her upside-down, rendering her helpless) You guessed it, another UO game! Go DUCKS! Corey sports the green-fuzzy-gumdrop head (that is irresistible to touch—at least to the students that sat behind us) and Faye sticks out her tongue (not a rare occasion). Faye dons the "old-school" football helmet hat (made by Kim, thanks!) It was the first night game we went to, so we prepared to battle the cold with multiple layers. Crazy Templetons. Here is the real crazy one! (rockin the super cool duck-baby-toy-earring) So tough! Ha! What a little love—with her tongue out, again. Faye gets into the costume fun. She shared her costume mask with mamma. "It never rains in Autzen stadium" (we just were playing around with yellow plastic ponchos, right?!) Celebrating another victory over UCLA! Our little twist-and-turn baby.
This might be new to some people—we are getting Faye used to the potty early. Based on a book called "Diaper Free Baby" we have been quite excited to get her on the potty and cuing signals for her to go in her little infant potty. We thought you might like to see just a glimpse...

Trying on dadda's hat for size. So close to fitting—if only her head was not in the 33rd percentile for circumference at her age! Mamma's birthday! 10/24 We spent the day at the pumpkin patch. (we didn't get this pumpkin with our free $5 pumpkin coupon...they were a bit smaller) So Donna admits that Faye looks quite adorable in this light pink. Yes, it can go down in the records as her having said so! Donna loved the outfit so much she had to give it a squeeze (ok, she really just wanted to give her cutie baby a squeeze). Faye's favorite part of mamma's b-day... yanking on her hair and getting lovely reactions in return. Faye was just trying to show mamma some love, that's all! They both had fun. Ohhh, discovering the mouth. "what big teeth you have mamma!" "The better to nibble off your little fingers my precious imp" (hehe) The previous picture was just to prepare Faye for really big teeth that would chomp at her fingers! (she came out of the day with all 10 digits) Donna decided to go out for a nice walk with Faye one day. Little did she know that it would be the biggest dumping of rain that day. Fortunately she was prepared. And Faye didn't mind the downpour at all. Faye and dadda playing tug-o-war. (Faye was winning) We kept with a theme for cutting the pumpkins—can you guess what it is? (hint: we were watching a UO away game at the time) Here is our little pumpkin on Halloween. The cutest little pumpkin ever. Here is Faye among her fellow fluffy friends from church. It took a *few* shots to get all of these little guys sitting up, being still, and looking in the general direction. Our little sitting pumpkin. Not quite mobile, yet! Faye watches mamma and dadda eat and wants to try out the spoon. Eek, metal isn't that tasty. But it is kinda fun to play with! Faye shows her stuffed animals who's boss. (no wonder our cats, Feist and Frou-Frou won't get within 4 feet of our little monster) Giggles—we love them! View and listen to how adorable they are! (dadda knows just how to get Faye to laugh) •

The 6th month ended with another Ducks game! Faye is getting quite used to the Ergo carrier. Again, the true fan is looking at the game. Another opportunity for a family shot. Go Ducks! Enjoying the game, dancing away with dadda. •

And later, being cozy with mamma. Instead of the game being a "nail-biting" experience for Faye, it became an "R-Gee-biting" experience (poor giraffe!) Though with the final score against Washington being 53–16, it wasn't much of a nail-biter. Faye and dadda sharing a moment while walking away from another Duck victory! As we were walking back from the game, we came across a perfect picture moment. Donna quickly placed Faye on the (somewhat damp) pile of vividly red leaves, freshly fallen. Faye always a willing participant (and not mobile enough to refuse at this point...hahahahaaaa!) Faye looks up at us blankly (but in her head she says, "not for long....mmmwwwwhhhhaaaahahahhaaaa!")

Faye: Month 5

Finally we finished up our CA road-trip just after Faye began her fifth month of life. Here she is, showing off the many faces of maturity in an oh-so-frequent photo-shoot by her paparazzi parents at a rest stop somewhere North of the CA/OR border. She hams it up, as usual.

Bradley Picnic! All of us went through weeks and weeks getting to know each other and learning about how we might have our babies - and here they all are (almost) like a string of... well... babies holding hands! Our friends Paul and Elizabeth show how much their larger child dwarfs our little Faye... and Paxton is a month YOUNGER than Faye! :) Might we add that Faye is hitting around the 75th percentile in height... if that's true, HE's gotta be off the charts! It was time for Faye to graduate up from the bassinet to the big-baby seat on the Bugaboo... all strapped in with blankets and toys galore!

Faye finally has enough hair to sport her first 'up-do'. (This was her imitation of 'blue steel'.)

She loves the bear her great grandma and great grandpa Dobbs got for her!

Faye shows off the outfit that Charlie and Anna Deese got for her after she was born - knowing full well that she would grow into it as the football season progressed. Thanks Deeses! Corey's birthday—we went out for Thai food while Elizabeth and Tanner volunteered to watch the little squirt, and we ran into our friends Erin and Carson whom we ended up dining with! Games at Tanner & Elizabeth's place with Kurt & Teagan were fun, and quite competitive... Corey is getting old, and we decided to place an accurate number of candles on the cake... the flames surprisingly didn't even set the table on fire - probably because the cake was made of ice cream! After a late night (*and Corey obviously too tired to change out of the shirt he was wearing the previous day!) Faye went back to sleep under Papa-Duck Corey's wing to sleep-in the following morning.

Psapp is the only cat who actually enjoys spending time with the little Monster. Faye pulls on her fur, and buries her face into her, while Psapp enjoys the attention. Feist and Frou-Frou, on the other hand, bolt at the sound of one of her squalks...

. Getting ready for another power walk with Mamma!

Faye enjoys lounging on the soft sheepskin rug. Faye finding her toes finally!! (though we have to admit, with large bulky cloth diapers, it makes it hard to bend!) Below this video shows her talking all about how hard it was to get to those toes!

Corey teaches Faye the finer points... well... at least introductory points... about the physics behind how structures stay standing. (booooring, other than some of the pictures in the book!)

Yeah, Faye, we understand... reading textbooks makes us sleepy too!

Something we didn't quite expect was Faye's fascination with licking the outside of our water glass. This video is fun... hey, it isn't laughing AT her if she likes it, right? aren't we laughing WITH her?

Ok, this one we are probably laughing at her... She has such a fun reaction when we blow in her face! Sometimes when she is upset or fussy, we blow in her face to distract her from whatever is making her fussy.

10.06.10 Faye's first football game, as the Ducks took on Stanford @ sunny Autzen Stadium! We didn't know how Faye would handle the experience... the crowds of people, the loud noises... earplugs worked for her for about 5 seconds, until she would rub her head up against Corey's chest and knock them out... The noise didn't seem to bother her, and we stopped continuously putting the plugs back in her ears. The fans around us loved our happy little sport, as they cooed over her presence... though probably a pretty good distraction for them. Blinding sun forced us to get a hat on her... awwwww it was gargantuous!! (guess we will be seeing this hat on her for several years, and maybe even fitting in it one day)

The game was a nail-biter, but the Ducks pulled out a victory, by quite a few points! (though Faye slept in the Ergo-carrier on Corey's chest probably 2/3 of the game)

Faye made some interesting friends during the game in the times she was awake... semi-nightmare-ish yellow and black gorilla...

...and a yellow storm trooper both wanted pictures with famous Faye to put up on their blogs!

Fans took over the field after the victory over what would be the highest ranked team the Ducks would have to play during the regular season. (the announcer always states that fans should wait 5 minutes before going on the field...never works)

As the Stanford band played on, Faye had her kicks.

Lord willing, we will have the next month up in a few days! But no promises... putting these together takes some time!
