Is God Good? (find out for yourself!)

Normally our posts are quite funny and silly—which is great—but there is more to us than the silly pictures we take. God had definitely been taking us through a journey to see who He really is, personally. This journey was partially brought on from the practical discussions in George MacDonald's The Curate of Glaston (if you want a good read that gets you thinking, this is one that will do just that—thanks again, Sarah C. for the recommendation). The characters are encouraged to seek out Who Jesus is and what He means to them, rather than just taking someone else's word. This journey was also brought on by the deficit felt in our own hearts with how we were seeking the Lord on our own. So easily we get pulled into the routine and necessities of the world around us, forgetting that the highest necessity is getting to KNOW the Lord and His Goodness. Here are some quotes from My Utmost for His Highest, that always get us thinking and desiring to really know the amazing Lord Who Loves and dive into His Word.
"As long as you have a personal interest in your own character, or any set ambition, you cannot get through into identification with God's interests."
"When I stop telling God what I want, He can catch me up for what He wants without let or hindrance...He simply asks me to have implicit faith in Himself and His goodness."
"If God has made your cup sweet, drink it with grace; if He has made it bitter, drink it in communion with Him...If you are not living in touch with Him it is easy to pass a crude verdict on God. You must go through the crucible before you have any right to pronounce a verdict, because in the crucible you learn to know God better."
In reading the Gospels, you can really see the heart of Jesus—One Who is moved by compassion for the multitudes that are lost without a shepherd—One Who heals the physical and (more importantly) the spiritual state of men who come to Him—One Who died that we might live and truly know the Father and the Son. Wow. We always seem to be brought back to the truth in this verse, "In Your presence is fullness of joy..."
