Featuring: Frou-Frou & Feist (our kitties)

It is about time that we have a post that features a select portion of fun pictures focusing on our cats! We just had some friends get some new kitties (welcome to the world Tom & Huck, and "Unnamed"—don't know if he has a name yet, does he Sandra?), it has inspired this post. Enjoy!

For those who have seen our kitties lately, they look all grown up. We found some of their first pictures when we got them back in August of 06 from Donna's phone (hence the low quality images). They were adorable (and slightly awkward, in a cute way). They had not quite grown into their ears yet (this was also at the time they didn't like using the little box and we found wet presents all over the house, we are very glad they grew out of that!). Frou-Frou, on the left, always had a wet nose from drinking water—I don't know how she breathed when she drank! One main reason we got two cats at one time instead of one, was that they would keep each other company when we were away for the day or the weekend. We often find them cuddled up together, as the picture shows below. Usually this cuddling turns into "love bites" and chasing around the house. Feist seems to enjoy the cuddling more than Frou-Frou, our "aloof-poof" as we sometimes call her. After such affections exchanged, there is often this "affection" below. Yes, they do clean each other (even there!). I think Feist was just making sure it was still her sister she was standing next to. Our cats are pretty tolerant of us...we feel that slight torture builds character and they are pretty cool cats because of it! Here Frou-Frou is being hung by her back feet and is as calm as can be.Here we were trying to increase Feist's skill for maneuvering out of tricky situations. Donna kept placing Feist's tail under the collar in the back. Feist's hind legs came in handy to get out of this one. We enjoy playing with Feist's tail because when she was younger she decided to dart between a closing door and we thought she might have to have it amputated, but thankfully it is healthy and well. Below is a picture of the contraption Feist had to wear when this awful thing happened. Frou-Frou was actually scared/repulsed by this new "hat" that feist wore.With Corey creating a lot of fun "scraps" from different materials left over from his architecture projects, the girls love playing with them (and we sometimes do too, as you can see from the pictures below). Frou-Frou is not too happy about this new pentagon-shaped "collar". Feist, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind, and even hams it up! (she is our box and bag player as well). Here is Feist, happy as can be with Corey (inwardly, but she didn't want the camera to know she was happy). Frou-Frou looks much more content than Feist did in the above picture. They love getting to be "outdoors". (only under supervision!) Corey has been enjoying his new camera, as seen in all of our blog pictures. Below he takes some candid shots of the girls and with one of the lenses used, it creates a bit of a distortion. Frou-Frou appears to have big ears again, as she did as a kitten. We often call Frou-Frou "the lion" because she seems to have the attitude of "king of the domain", below is one of those poses...distorted by the lens. This last picture is a fun one to catch. I think that cats look quite scary when they yawn...what do you think?Alright, that is the end of the "crazy-cat-people" post. More about our human side of life to come... : )
