Game Night!

Look, another blog, and so soon! We told you we would be blogging more frequently! We know all of you out in blog-land are glad! This blog is all about our most recent game night at our friend's, the Bursons, lovely newlywed abode. Also in attendance we had the Castros, Carters, and Thompsons. What a crazy group for game night. We played two games: ImagiNiff, and Quelf. ImagiNiff was the warm-up game to prepare us for the land of Quelf. Below are the pictures resulting from this off-the-wall game. If you are ever looking for a game that is very different from the norm, here it is. Here are the Templetons, putting on their game faces. (ok, we are just making faces—if these were our game faces we wouldn't be invited to game nights!)

And here are the Carters, looking great as always. Joel takes such boring pictures doesn't he?! : )
And a cute photo shot of the Castros. We just heard that they have new bikes..."hybrid" like ours! We are looking forward to a biking excursion with them soon! (what do you think, Castros?)
This picture below is of the "cobra" that Sandra made. She and Josh were competing to create the most realistic paper cobra in less than a minute and Sandra's won! Josh's cobra lay in defeat in the lower left corner of the frame (you can only see just a bit of the cobra—but his version was just the midsection of the cobra).
One of the "Global Rules" that came into play from one of the cards was if your Quelf character was on the same space as another player's you had to hold hands with them. It was nice that many of these worked out to being married couples holding hands (but not the one with Joel and Corey!). Evan and Sara really did enjoy holding each other's hands, at the point of the picture, Evan was trying to look away from Corey sitting on Joel's lap to the right of him!
Sara drew a card that challenged her to create a "halloween-type" mask from household items and wear the mask until she landed on a green space. (you will see from some of the following pictures that she had to wear it for a while!) It was great!
Joel gets to sing, on his knees, about being a Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz. Not knowing the song they sang, he made one up on the spot. Chris is "humming" the national anthem through his nose. There were many different responses to this occurrence: Yohanna doubled over in laughter (as seen below), others stared in amazement, Sara put her hand on her heart (stayed sitting down because she had to have her hand on the ground from a Rule card), and Joel was so moved he got right up and placed his hand over his heart as Chris belted the song through his nose. We will never think of the national anthem in the same way again. Corey and Joel have to recite the "patty-cake" song while doing the hand motions two times through. If you ever wanted to see two grown men playing and singing patty-cake, here you go! Evan was given a challenge to act as a photographer and if he used a real camera, he was able to get extra points, so he grabbed Corey's camera and started taking pictures. His "model" ended up being Corey, and seeing that Corey was not shy at all, he went along and got quite into it. All of us watching erupted into laughter when Evan said, "bad kitty"! (turns out the card told him to say "good kitty" but that was close enough and extremely funny!) On the left picture you will see Sara covering her masked mouth in shock while Sarah Carter was covering her eyes in the far left of the picture as Corey revealed his calf! In the middle picture you can see Donna in the left of the picture hiding her head in shame. On the right picture Corey shows the camera who's boss. Crazy man! I almost forgot to mention the yummy cookies Sandra made. Ginger-snap cookies—they were huge and delicious! It made for a sweet time of fellowship (the friends and the cookies)!

Yeah! I like Joel singing the munchkin song and Sara's mask. They are both so creative! Can't wait for the next one!
