Between then and now...July 2011

Alright, on to July 2011. One more blog closer to catching up...

At the end of our CA trip we got to see good friends of ours and their little Ellie (who is in previous blog entries).
She and Faye are 8 days apart. It was perfect weather for water-fun.

Doing "laps" in between dips in the kiddie pool.

Bubbles!

Who can get their mouth open wider? Hmmm, too close to call.

We were able to have a delicious summertime meal, complete with ribs, salad, and corn on the cob!
Corey keeps his hands amazingly clean when eating ribs somehow... Donna and Faye, not so much.

This was Faye's second 4th of July. This time, she was much more mobile and awake!

Faye, mommy, and little baby bump.

Faye loved her little chair—though she didn't like sitting in it as much as standing!

Faye was awake during the fireworks show this year.
We cheered and clapped at every little sound so that she could be excited as well.
She wasn't exactly excited, but she wasn't crying. Maybe just a bit concerned.

This month Faye had her first swimming lessons. It was more of an exploration of the pool than lessons.
She had so much fun in the water with her daddy. There are a few shots from the two weeks of lessons.

Though Donna took way too many videos of swimming lessons, we will only show one.
In this video Faye signs "please" over and over for this water activity.
(You can see in part of the video, one of the other parents doing a "safe" version of the one Corey does. Faye likes it higher!)

Faye continues to love books!

A video of Faye using her reading voice.

Summertime in Eugene means outdoor events! We are always on the hunt for free family events to attend.
This one was a guy who sang reggae-style children's songs. Faye was clappin.

We did a quick trip up to Portland to see one of our favorite artists, Josh Garrels, perform.
And while we were up there we just had to see "Uncle Sean".

During the performance Faye did very well for being a lively 14-month-old baby up past her bedtime. This picture below says it all.

The "bump" is becoming a favorite resting pillow for Faye.

Yay for free slurpees on 7-11 day!
Faye loved them almost as much as Donna!
(some reason that is a craving she has while pregnant)

Yup. Food on face.

Love occasions where we get to dress Faye up. This was at our friend's beautiful outdoor wedding.

Finally getting the hang of how to use the whistle-lips that were favors back from her monster 1st birthday party.

"I'll show you how you should eat corn on the cob!"

The smallest bike helmet, still too big.

It kept slipping forward over her eyes.

One of our favorite activities is to bike down through downtown, the park, and end up at our favorite frozen yogurt shop.

Destination yogurt. Looks like the yogurt isn't the only yummy tasting item there.

Faye and the bear reminded us of the Sistine Chapel ceiling
Ahhh, art in the ordinary.

Faye took riding the horse bare-backed a little too far
—she decided she should go bare-backed, and more!
(Thankfully no splinters!)

This area has become her favorite hangout in the backyard. Rocks spill in through the neighbor's yard and she loves sitting in the dirt and collecting them. We then find them scattered throughout the house.

We will end July's update with our little "hippie cat-lover". Psapp is a very patient cat.
