Day 10
Waking up in a home with our family is such a nice feeling! Corey and Kris make breakfast for Shara and Donna. Piles of pancakes surrounded us as if to say, "we dare you to eat us all!" I think Kris was the grand winner for eating the most.
We then went out for a canoe/kayak adventure. Donna was a bit uneasy, remembering the last time she was on a kayak. It was back when she and Corey were dating over 4 years ago. It was at Shell Beach and the people at the kayak rental shop were close to not letting us go because of high wind advisory. But they did let us go... and one too many waves and a kayak tipping over leaving Donna clinging to a rock— definitely made for a lasting memory (or nightmare). This was a lot more calm, the only weather factor was HOT sun beating down on us. It was a great time! Donna not only went in the canoe but then the kayak... no longer afraid as she was in the past. We all got a nice arm workout. We didn't dare bring the camera in the canoe or kayaks, knowing the disaster that could happen to it, so we had to take a picture on land. Shara is great at canoeing on land!

For dinner we went to Mamasitas restaurant and had some good ol' mexican food. After getting fueled up we went to a local baseball game. The team is called the Steamers, with their mascot being a Clam! We watched a good game where the home team did win. During the game we were able to listen to the song "Sweet Caroline" (go figure!).

Hi Katie,
I will have to chat with you about Happy Camp and see how it went. We missed seeing people as well. Our trip has had some fun surprises, thanks for checking in. A roadtrip that is overplanned and predictable is just no fun at all! Hope all is well with you.
