Faye: Month 8
Hope you have been enjoying the post catch-ups!
This month (12.07–01.06) was filled with festivities, fun, food, family, and firsts.
Faye is scooting herself around (typically backwards) to get where she wants to go. Where does she want to go? Toward everything that we hope she stays away from...like the little candles that she would go and knock over any chance she got!
This is an (action) picture of Faye grabbing at one of the vintage ornaments on the tree. (we hate using the camera flash, so it has been hard to catch pictures of Faye that aren't blurry—especially because she is moving at all times now!

The biggest adventure this month was all the travel! All of these next visits were hours apart and only a few hours spent at each place—we were quite busy! First stop was to our Lapides friends. Ellie and Faye (just 8 days apart) show just how happy they are to see each other again. They are able to "play" more! (yes, Faye is the blurred one)
Yes, it looks like Donna and Kim are "friends who dress alike" (and dress their kiddos alike).

Off to the Carters next...where we got to meet their newest addition—only days old! Took many shots to get this one...
Caleb just wouldn't be still (ok, it was Faye actually). Caleb is just precious!
Next was the visit to the Dobbs/Bitters. Faye and April get some face time.
Faye performs CPR on her first Christmas present.
Faye LOVED Great Gma's little toy lamb (that Brielle and April used to love when they were babies). Watch her rock out to the tunes.

Corey's parents took us to Kauai for a couple days before Christmas! This was Faye's first flying experience.
Here she is eagerly awaiting her first boarding.
Faye did so well traveling—whew! It was a long day of travel...so when we got to the place we were staying, it was time for Faye to relax and enjoy a sink bath! (we LOVE giving her sink baths...and so does she) When filling up the sink, she tries to grab the water coming out of the faucet.
Grampy is teaching her a thing or two about plants.
Morning hike down to "Secret Beach"...quite wet outside (no it is not sweat that drenches Donna's arm)!
So easy to walk along beaches with the carrier vs the stroller!
Donna's favorite fruit stand: Banana Joe's—they had pineapple freezes that were delicious!

Walking around beautiful Kauai with an adorable baby—can't beat that!
Mamma shows Faye how to be resourceful.
And we made sure to stop and take time to smell the flowers.
Keeping Faye dry as we visit some of the beautiful waterfalls in the area.
There were TONS of wild chickens running around...to the amusement of Faye (but mainly the bird-man, Grampy).
Other birds that greeted us every morning were South American Cardinals. They loved that we were feeding them
(it wasn't until the end of the trip that we saw a sign on our fridge saying to not feed any animals...oops)!
Faye loved watching.
One morning we got to take a crazy hike and leave Faye with the grandparents! (by crazy hike we mean in two miles you go up over 1200ft and after days of raining, it was VERY muddy/slippery) At the top we were able to see 1/5th of the island...beautiful, and worth it!
Good thing we had water shoes that had a lot of traction.
Here we all are—though Faye is more interested in eating her lei.

Faye got to try many types of fruit on this trip...

The morning of our last day we actually got to ride in a small plane around the entire island.
(it was the first day out of several that any flying was happening because it was rainy the WHOLE time before this day). So finally a clear day!
Faye won't remember much, but we sure loved it.
So much excitement—wore her out.
Our flights home went well (not as well as the way there)...Faye just didn't want to sleep.
So instead of sleeping, she figured she would keep dadda awake too!
Back in Sacramento...bundled up and ready to go and see some Christmas lights.
Each house has a different theme...so much fun! We just had to take a picture with these guys.

The day after Christmas, being stripe day, we had to take a picture (ok, unofficial stripe day)!
Faye loves the little bunny Auntie Vicki made for her.
Right when we got home we unpacked then packed for a quick surprise visit to Auntie Katie (since she was working through the Holidays at Starbucks and couldn't be with the fam). It was QUITE the surprise for her... we surprised her at work. We hid behind Faye and she even looked as she was making coffee drinks and said "cute baby" (not realizing it was her niece!). We knew when she recognized us (as well as the rest of the customers at Starbucks) because she let out a squeal and came and hugged us. It was nice and snowy up there in Washington—and beautiful.
We took Katie to Seattle for the day (since she hadn't been)!
Faye enjoyed the day.
Just for those rule-followers out there, don't worry, Faye was only touching the sign not the actual sculptures that were the "do not touch" items. :)
All-in-all, it was a great time up there...though too short!
Back home finally, Faye is now crawling (but still likes to get herself stuck under couches by going backwards).
Corey had to rescue her from this one.
We gave Faye a whole strawberry to eat...
What a mess...next time, it is going in the little mesh holder!
The New Year came and went and our little New Year's baby was actually up for the first of the year... but alas, the photographers took the night off! :) This next year holds many more adventures...

ADORABLE pics! LOVED them.
Faye is absolutely beautiful! I had no idea you two had become parents..what a blessing for you and for your daughter. I am sure you are wonderful parents. Knowing how how much you two love the Lord, I know you will raise her up to know & serve the Lord. Enjoy every minute of her young life, they grow up so fast!
